Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes

Chapter 560: Vox The Fox

Chapter 560: Vox The Fox

Lana nodded, and Axel continued, his voice calm yet firm."In the current situation, facing a five-hundred-year-old ghost on your own would be extremely dangerous. I will accompany you in this case."

Lana agreed. After all, the reward was simply too tempting. If it had not been for the severity of the situation, she would never have dragged her uncle into this matter.

After that, Lana went through several more case files.

Together, they analyzed nearly eight hundred documents and carefully discussed possible strategies before finally calling it a day.

Not long after they finished, Mr. Crow returned. The following day, Lana appeared outside Declan’s sister’s mansion.

The moment Declan noticed her approaching, his face lit up with excitement.

He quickly walked toward her and guided her inside. "My sister and her husband have been waiting for a long time. Please come in."

Lana nodded while Axel followed quietly behind her.

As they walked through the elegant hallways, Declan repeated much of what he had mentioned before.

He already knew that the scale of this exorcism would be far greater than an ordinary case, so he never thought of questioning Lana’s decisions. Nevertheless, Lana still explained the situation.

"This case may become extremely serious," Lana warned. "There is a possibility that I might need my uncle’s assistance. That is why I invited him."

Declan nodded immediately. "I understand completely."

Soon, Lana, Axel, and Declan entered the living room.

The moment Declan’s sister saw Lana, she hurried toward her.

Her face was filled with desperation and exhaustion, as though she had not slept properly in days.

She was about to grab Lana’s hand when Axel calmly stepped forward and stopped her midway.

Declan’s sister gave off the aura of a scholar.

She wore conservative clothing, and a pair of spectacles rested neatly on her nose.

When she noticed Axel’s action, she adjusted her glasses and briefly glanced at him before turning back to Lana. There was a faint flicker of hope hidden deep within her eyes.

"Please," she pleaded. "Please save my daughter."

Hearing those words, Lana sighed softly.

"Ma’am, I will first need to inspect her condition. After that, I will have several questions. I hope you can cooperate with me."

Declan’s sister agreed without hesitation. "Of course. I will answer anything."

Soon, she led them upstairs toward the room where her daughter was staying.

In fact, Declan had already sought help from the university.

The university had dispatched two spiritual cultivators and one mystical cultivator to help suppress whatever was affecting the girl.

When Lana entered the room, her gaze immediately landed on a young female cultivator.

She frowned slightly. ’I don’t remember anyone like her among my classmates.’

Turning toward Axel, she looked puzzled. Axel immediately understood. "She belongs to the junior class."

Only then did Lana realize the truth.

Because of various rare missions and activities, the senior students rarely interacted with the juniors. As a result, she barely knew any of them.

The junior’s name was Gloria. The moment Gloria saw Lana, her eyes sparkled with excitement and admiration.

Meanwhile, Lana’s attention shifted toward the bed. A young girl was tightly restrained to it with specially designed belts.

The girl’s name was Yasmin.

Her complexion was frighteningly pale. Her cheeks were sunken, and her body looked so thin that even a strong gust of wind seemed capable of carrying her away.

She appeared as though she could stop breathing at any moment.

Lana frowned and approached the bed.

Yasmin’s eyes remained closed, but her body twitched from time to time. The movements were unnatural, almost as if something trapped inside her body was desperately trying to claw its way out.

After observing for a moment, Lana turned toward the three cultivators.

The two spiritual cultivators were continuously channeling spiritual energy into Yasmin’s body while the mystical cultivator maintained a suppression technique.

Lana spoke calmly. "Leave her."

The moment those words left her mouth, everyone froze. The three cultivators exchanged stunned looks. Declan’s sister’s face instantly turned pale.

"If they stop, my daughter..."

Lana interrupted gently. "I have my own methods. Please trust me."

Her calm confidence somehow eased the tension in the room. After a brief hesitation, Declan’s sister finally nodded.

The cultivators withdrew their energy and left the room. Soon, only Lana, Axel, Declan, and Declan’s sister remained inside.

Lana stared at Yasmin for several seconds before chuckling softly.

"Are you planning to keep pretending to be unconscious?"

The atmosphere instantly froze. The next moment, Yasmin’s eyes snapped open.

Her movements were unnaturally smooth as she slowly turned her head toward Lana.

Then she smiled. The smile was twisted and unsettling enough to send chills crawling down everyone’s spine.

"Interesting," she whispered. "Very interesting. You are the first woman who realized my deception within a single minute."

Lana smiled casually. "I have noticed far more interesting things than that."

With those words, she casually pulled a chair over and sat beside the bed.

Yasmin sneered. Then she burst into laughter. It was not the laughter of a young girl. It was the deep, rough laughter of an adult man.

In the next second, Yasmin suddenly broke free from the restraints.

The leather belts snapped apart with loud cracks.

She lunged toward Lana, her fingers extending directly toward Lana’s throat.

However, Lana barely moved. She remained seated as calmly as ever. For the first time, surprise appeared in Yasmin’s eyes.

Then she laughed again. "So interesting."

Her eyes glowed with greed. "You are truly interesting. Do you know what? I have decided that I will take over your body next."

Lana merely nodded. "We’ll see about that."

Then she pointed toward the chair opposite her. "Now sit down properly. Let’s have a conversation."

For the first time, the entity paused. It was one thing for someone to remain calm. It was another thing entirely to remain this calm.

The confidence in Lana’s eyes made him feel uneasy. ’Does she know something?’

After a brief silence, he finally spoke. "I am Vox."

Lana immediately grinned. "Yes, and I am Fox."

For a moment, complete silence filled the room.

Even Axel rolled his eyes. Meanwhile, Vox clenched his fists. "Did you just mock me? Did you seriously just mock me?"

Lana quickly shook her head. "No, no. I wasn’t mocking you."

She rubbed her ear casually. "I was simply trying to crack a joke. The atmosphere is far too tense."

Vox’s expression darkened.

Lana leaned back comfortably before looking directly into his eyes. "So, Vox, what are your conditions for not continuing to live inside this girl’s body?"

Vox stared at her for several seconds. Then he spoke slowly.

"Originally, I was going to say that I wanted nothing."

His gaze shifted toward Yasmin’s trembling hands. "And I had no intention of permanently taking over this girl’s body. But now, I’ve changed my terms and conditions."

Vox’s lips curled into a sinister grin as he leaned back lazily in Yasmin’s body.

"As long as you allow me to take over your body, I will spare this girl."

Lana nodded thoughtfully. "Really? Then how about this? Let’s sign a contract."

Hearing those words, Vox immediately agreed. A strange gleam flashed through his eyes. "Excellent."

He snapped his fingers.

A second later, black mist gathered in the air before condensing into a sheet of aged parchment.

The paper smelled faintly of sulfur and old blood. Strange symbols crawled across its surface like living insects.

Vox pushed it toward her. "Sign it quickly. Go on. Sign it."

Lana nodded and accepted the pen from his hand.

However, just as the tip of the pen was about to touch the paper, she suddenly paused.

"Wait a minute."

She tilted her head. "I haven’t read it yet."

The smile on Vox’s face stiffened slightly.

"Why do you even need to read it?" he chuckled. "Don’t you trust me?"

Lana laughed softly. "Trust you?"

She pointed toward Yasmin.

"You almost tricked a young girl right in front of me. How exactly am I supposed to trust you after that?"

Without waiting for his response, she lowered her gaze and began reading every line carefully.

The room fell silent. Vox remained calm, seemingly unconcerned.

Finally, Lana finished reading. She slowly lowered the contract before looking directly at him.

"You know, I think your name should actually be Fox."

Vox frowned. "What do you mean?"

Lana shook the contract lightly. "You created such a creative agreement. Don’t you feel even a little ashamed?"

She smiled sweetly. "Or perhaps you would like to explain why every single clause benefits only you?"

Vox chuckled darkly. "Well, that’s your own stupidity."

His smile widened. "Did you really expect a demon to be honest?"

A dark pressure spread outward from his body.

"I am not some kind-hearted spirit."

His eyes narrowed. "I deceive. I manipulate. I lie."

"Now that we’re done with these childish games, tell me what you want." Lana folded the contract and casually placed it on her lap.

Vox’s answer came immediately.

"Of course I want you to sign that agreement."
