Chapter 503 - 479: Fleeing in Panic

Ian Grant glared mockingly: "I knew you were running here every day, turns out that old bitch still has her charm?! Is it because of her that you wanted to break off our engagement back then?!...""Ian Grant!" Quentin Thorne shouted, "Shut up!"

Sienna Thornton was also provoked by Ian Grant’s vicious words, her face flushed, body trembling like a leaf, eyes red and tears welling in her eyes, desperately holding them back.

She rushed towards Ian Grant quickly, and Simon Forrester couldn’t stop her in time.

"Who are you cursing? If you have the guts, curse again!" Sienna Thornton screamed hysterically, her voice breaking at the end!

Simon Forrester held her tightly from behind: "Enough! Calm down!"

The shouts came one after another, louder each time, frightening Melinda Linton who was hiding in the room with fear.

Worried about her daughter, Melinda Linton, supported by Auntie King, finally came out. Her eyes were red as she softly called, "Annie..."

Sienna Thornton turned to look at Melinda Linton, tears spilled over, and she walked over to gently embrace her mother.

Simon Forrester, feeling compassion, also had reddened eyes, and coldly said to Quentin Thorne, "Please take her away! Stop disturbing innocent people!"

After speaking, he helped Sienna Thornton and her mother back into the room.

After the door closed, there were still noises outside, but after a while, the sounds ceased. Simon Forrester went out to check, then came back and said, "Thornton has taken her away, it’s alright now, you can come out."

Upon hearing this, Auntie King and Melinda Linton both sighed in relief.

Sienna Thornton couldn’t stop her tears.

Seeing this, Melinda Linton stepped forward to hug her, lightly patting her back in comfort, "Annie, it’s okay, your dad will handle it, trust him!"

Sienna Thornton couldn’t understand why Melinda Linton trusted Quentin Thorne so much since Quentin obviously couldn’t control that crazy woman Ian Grant. If he could, Ian Grant wouldn’t have come causing trouble today.

Sienna Thornton felt exhausted, about to get married, yet encountering such issues. She was somewhat resentful towards Quentin Thorne, blaming him for not keeping the mad dog Ian Grant under control.

.

Sienna Thornton calmed her emotions, letting Auntie King and Melinda Linton rest in the room, while she went to the living room to find Simon Forrester.

Simon Forrester was on the phone with the property management, asking why strangers were allowed in.

After a while, he hung up the phone, and Sienna Thornton asked, "How did that woman get in?"

Simon Forrester said, "The property management checked the surveillance; she followed other residents to sneak in."

Sienna Thornton was puzzled, "How did she access the building after entering the neighborhood?"

The first floor has a security door, you can’t enter without an access card.

Simon Forrester said, "She was already inside by the time I came out of the room. Auntie King opened the door."

Sienna Thornton then returned to Melinda Linton’s room to ask Auntie King. Auntie King nervously said, "The woman rang the doorbell, claiming she was from the Forrester Family, here to deliver something. She looked like a servant from a wealthy family, so I let her in..."

Upon hearing "she looked like a servant from a wealthy family," Sienna Thornton couldn’t help but find it both funny and annoying, reminding Auntie King not to open the door for strangers next time, then she left.

Following the confrontation with Ian Grant, she felt completely drained, slumping on the couch, not wanting to talk at all.

Simon Forrester quietly sat beside her.

They sat silently for a moment until Quentin Thorne came in.

Simon Forrester patted Sienna Thornton’s hand and temporarily left.

Quentin Thorne sat down, glanced at Sienna Thornton, who was still reclining, and said, "Ian Grant won’t come back, don’t worry."

Sienna Thornton shook her head weakly, "I’m really worried, do we have to move again?"

"No need." Quentin Thorne sighed, hesitating, "Don’t worry, I’ve spoken with Ian Grant, she won’t return."

Sienna Thornton didn’t know how Quentin Thorne negotiated with that crazy dog Ian Grant, but for now, she had no other choice but to trust Quentin Thorne.

She composed herself, sat upright, looked at Quentin Thorne, and said calmly, "Please make sure to handle this carefully, my mom’s health is not good, she can’t endure stress, let’s hope nothing unfortunate happens again."

"Alright, Annie, don’t worry."

Sienna Thornton nodded, stood up, and was about to return to Melinda Linton’s room to ask if she wanted to go out shopping or watch a movie today, when unexpectedly, she heard Quentin Thorne ask, "Want to visit your grandparents?"

She paused for a few seconds, and asked, "Grandparents?"

"Yes, your grandparents are also in Wrayhaven County, Crestfall Township."

Though Wrayhaven isn’t very large, it has many surrounding villages, and due to its unique geographical structure, the distance between the villages can be hundreds of kilometers.

Sienna Thornton left Wrayhaven at thirteen, went to Z City for high school, and hasn’t returned for ten years, having no idea where Crestfall Township is, with no concept of it in her mind at all.

Quentin Thorne had anticipated this and explained, "Crestfall Township is one of the less impoverished areas in Wrayhaven County. Before, you could take a bus to the county, then switch to a villager’s motorcycle and be there within an hour."

Sienna Thornton understood, smiling, "Indeed, quite different from the isolated and hard-to-access Raines Village, no wonder I didn’t know this place, and no wonder my mom never returned."

Quentin Thorne smiled bitterly, "Raines Village has remained so poor because it’s so secluded, surrounded by mountains, back then not even having a road; without local villagers guiding, outsiders couldn’t find their way in. This is why when your mom was taken there to marry, no matter how I searched, I couldn’t find her."

For the first time, Quentin Thorne mentioned the reason he couldn’t find Melinda Linton back then to Sienna Thornton.

Sienna Thornton had lived in Raines Village for many years, knowing well what kind of place it was, so she believed Quentin Thorne was honest.

Actually, Quentin Thorne never completely explained to her the story after losing Melinda Linton; she only pieced together a rough picture from his brief mentions and from what she understood.

Yet, through her morning confrontation with Ian Grant, she speculated there was a hidden story behind, and perhaps that secret could become a seed of hatred, driving her to retaliate against the Grant Family, which is why Ian Grant ran away when hearing her threat to reveal the past.

These speculations became a seed, today deeply buried in Sienna Thornton’s heart.

She wouldn’t directly ask Quentin Thorne, knowing even if she did, Quentin Thorne would avoid telling the truth to prevent a conflict with the Grant Family. Hence, asking was futile, but she would investigate the real truth of those past events herself.
