Chapter 515 - 489: Wedding Day (Part 4)

Chapter 515 - 489: Wedding Day (Part 4)

Aurora chuckled and looked at the three old groomsmen standing confidently at the front, asking, "So, for the third round, is it up to you three, brothers?"Gage raised an eyebrow stylishly and grinned, "Of course, let’s get on with it!"

Logan also looked self-assured, almost as if "nothing in the world could stump me" was written all over his face.

At this point, Aurora took a thick stack of A4 papers out of her bag.

Logan saw it, sensed trouble, and signaled to Gavin. Gavin ignored him, so he turned to look at Ronan.

Though Ronan often spoke without a filter, he was quite cunning, knowing he had to help Simon quickly pick up the bride, so he leaned over to take a glance.

One look, and he felt utterly hopeless.

Seeing this, Gage asked, "Ash, tell us brothers quickly, what is it?"

Ronan: "Past actual exam questions from the bar exam..."

Logan: "..."

Gage: "..."

The two exchanged glances for a few seconds, then smoothly sidestepped and pushed Tobias Blackwood and Thomas Reed up front.

Aurora waved at Gage, "Hey! Mr. Grant, didn’t you say you two would handle the third round?"

Gage instantly picked up his phone, yelling, "Hello? What did you say? I have bad reception here; I’ll take this outside!" With that, he headed into the living room.

Logan pretended to cover his mouth, "Ugh... I think I ate something bad this morning, I feel like vomiting... I need to go to the bathroom... Ugh!" With that, he too slipped away.

Simon, already resigned to it, knew that having these two as groomsmen was purely because all the other suitable candidates were married, so he had to grab these two unreliable ones.

Aurora saw Thomas and Tobias stepping up, and suddenly felt that testing them on bar exam questions wasn’t that interesting. After all, both of them had PhDs in law; how could those exam questions possibly stump them?

So she discussed with the other two bridesmaids, and they all agreed that it would be more meaningful to get Fourth Master Grant and Logan back to answer the questions.

While the three were consulting, Simon had already overheard, and with a wave of his hand, Harrison trotted over to him.

Simon whispered something in Harrison’s ear, and he quickly went to bring Logan and Gage back.

Those two unreliable ones thought the bar exam question round was over, cheerfully coming back to join the fun. Furthermore, they both couldn’t stay low-key, immediately wanting to take the center stage.

Aurora announced the competition rules: "In this round, there are sixty bar exam questions in total. If you can’t finish and answer them correctly within twenty minutes, you’ll continue with a second round of questions, but then the number of questions will become one hundred, and the answering time will extend to thirty minutes... and so on."

Gage and Logan were both stunned, just about to ask if the bar exam question round was over, but before they could say anything, Aurora had already read the first question.

"As long as there is sufficient evidence to prove that a suspect commits a crime, prosecutors must initiate a public prosecution. What legal principle is this system based on?"

She called on Gage: "Mr. Grant, would you like to answer first?"

Gage scratched his head, "No options?"

Wendy Jacobs laughed, "If there were options, why even test you?"

Gage: "..."

He furtively looked at Simon, glancing towards where Thomas and Tobias were standing.

Simon frowned and shook his head.

Aurora smiled, "So, are we going to skip this one?"

Logan, unwilling to give up, muttered, "Let me try!"

Everyone looked over, thinking, does Logan, who studied architecture, know anything about the law?

Logan, feeling desperate, blurted out an answer: "The basis for legal prosecution!"

All three bridesmaids covered their mouths, laughing.

Gage rolled his eyes at Logan, "Are you talking nonsense? Everyone knows it’s ’legal prosecution’; the question is, based on what law!"

Logan, unwilling to back down, "If you think you can do better, go ahead! Why criticize from the sidelines?"

Seeing the two veteran groomsmen, whose combined age exceeded seventy, about to argue, Tobias quickly stepped in to separate them and answered the question in passing: "It’s based on the ’principle of legality for prosecution’."

Tobias was a handsome man with a gentlemanly demeanor; he always smiled at people and never spoke much. Yet, it was precisely such a person who made it hardest for others to refuse.

The bridesmaid trio unanimously agreed to consider them passing this question.

Aurora continued to throw questions: "Socialist rule of law takes fairness and justice as the values pursued in all rule of law practices. What statement correctly reflects the basic requirements of the fairness and justice concept?"

This question’s answer was seemingly more complicated and not something one could blurt out; Fourth Master Grant and Logan stayed silent, not daring to speak.

Gage frantically signaled to Thomas.

Thomas smiled and said, "Delayed justice is injustice; legal activities should simultaneously consider both fairness and efficiency."

Aurora then consecutively threw several questions, and Tobias and Thomas answered them correctly without hesitation, and even word for word.

They finished all sixty questions in less than twenty minutes.

The bridesmaids felt a bit disheartened, while Aurora looked at the self-satisfied Gage and Logan, saying: "This round passed because the groom is well-liked! We’re letting you guys cheat because of him."

Logan snorted, "Less talk, let’s quickly move to the next segment, or we’ll miss the auspicious time!"

Of the male god group, only Harrison, Jack, and Aiden hadn’t answered questions yet; the bridesmaids conferred and decided to test them on poetry.

They thought that Jack, who graduated from aviation school, Harrison, who studied architecture, and Aiden surely wouldn’t have a way with it. Unexpectedly, Harrison, with an impressive reserve of poetry knowledge, answered effortlessly and won the fourth round in just a few rounds.

Simon gave Harrison a thumbs up: "I didn’t expect you’d have this talent."

Harrison boasted, "Of course, I’m known as the ’Little Prince of Poetry’ in my hometown!"

Simon patted his arm and turned to instruct Aiden, "Give Harrison a bonus at the end of the year."

Aiden nodded with a faint smile.

Afterward, the bridesmaids brought out math challenges, and Aiden perfectly aced them.

Among the five rounds of challenges, besides the first round of red envelope bombardment and the second round of selecting a brother imposed by the groomsmen, the three intellectually challenging rounds originally prepared by the bridesmaids were beautifully won by the male god group members.

Harrison, among the groomsmen, also made contributions, whereas the two in-field escapers, Gage and Logan, were the oldest, most thick-skinned, and legal ignoramuses. They contributed nothing, merely added to the chaos and puffed up with pride.

Before entering the bride’s room, Simon cast a disdainful glance at them.

Receiving the bridegroom’s disdainful look, Logan and Gage were both very upset, stealthily plotting to cut Simon’s red envelope in half!

.

Following the bridesmaids into the room, Simon immediately saw the bride sitting on the bed, with a red veil embroidered with golden dragons and phoenixes to resplendent bliss covering her.

Filled with joy and tenderness, he walked over softly, knelt halfway before the bride, handed over the large bouquet he held, then took her other hand, closed his eyes, and placed a kiss on the back of her hand.
