Chapter 517 - 491: Wedding Day (Part 6)
The ceremony concluded, and the newlyweds took photos with their parents.Quentin Thorne and Melinda Linton sat side by side, with Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton standing behind them, capturing a few photos.
Later, Old Mrs. Thorne sat in the middle, with the newlyweds on one side and Quentin Thorne and Melinda Linton on the other, and took a few more photos.
Melinda Linton wore a light purple cheongsam with pink embroidery, paired with a smoky pink fur over her shoulders. Her shoulder-length black hair was slightly curled inward, and her long bangs were naturally tucked behind her ears, adorned with a red gemstone hairpin.
She wore light makeup, looking gracefully at the camera with a smile. Although her eyes and nose were red, she appeared very gentle and elegant.
Quentin Thorne, dressed in a formal double-breasted suit with a wine-red patterned tie, looked healthy and youthful, appearing just over forty.
Handsome and refined, Quentin and the gentle and beautiful Melinda looked well-suited together. People unaware of their circumstances might mistake them for a genuine couple.
The photographer captured all these moments.
Gage Grant watched everything with a complex expression, lost in thought, finally sighing helplessly.
.
After the photos, everyone enjoyed sweet soup and prepared to escort the bride to the groom’s house.
Simon Forrester held a red round basket in one hand and a red umbrella in the other, shading himself and Sienna Thornton. Surrounded by the groomsmen and bridesmaids, they took the elevator down to enter the wedding car.
The other members of the groomsmen, stylists, and the bride’s parents took a separate elevator.
By the time they descended, the groom and bride were already in the car.
Watching her daughter about to leave her, Melinda Linton burst into tears, running after the car.
Quentin Thorne also followed, the two of them leaning on the back window of the main wedding car.
Melinda Linton held Sienna Thornton’s hand, crying non-stop, barely intelligible through her sobs, she said, "Annie, you must be happy!"
Sienna Thornton, whose tears had just been stopped, began crying again, uncontrollably.
The groomsmen each boarded their respective cars, and the bridesmaids boarded the groomsmen’s car. At the auspicious moment, the matchmaker gave the order, and the main wedding car at the front started and soon drove away.
Quentin Thorne held Melinda Linton, watching the car carrying their daughter vanish at the street corner, the two standing under the apartment building, holding each other in tears.
.
Sienna Thornton cried the whole way, and Simon Forrester kept handing her tissues, but once wiped, she cried again.
Simon Forrester had to hold her, softly comforting her, but she still couldn’t stop crying. Although she hadn’t lived long at her parents’ house before the marriage, and could still visit often after marriage, fundamentally, life wouldn’t change much. Yet, inexplicably, she felt heartbroken and wanted to cry.
It’s perhaps her natural daughterly instinct; getting married makes her feel like crying.
She cried the whole way, and as the car approached the old town, nearing the Forrester Family home, she forced herself to stop crying.
Simon Forrester looked at her and smiled, "When our daughter gets married, will you cry like this too?"
She nodded tearfully, "Not just me, you’ll cry too."
Simon Forrester laughed, "Then let’s not let our daughter marry, find her a husband to live with us, then we don’t have to cry?"
Gage Grant, driving, laughed and said, "When we set off to pick up the bride this morning, even your grandpa was at the car window, tears streaming down. So if you get a husband for your daughter, do you think you won’t cry?"
Simon Forrester was speechless.
Sienna Thornton burst into a smile through her tears, asking nasally, "Really? Did Grandpa Forrester really cry this morning?"
Simon Forrester, slightly embarrassed, uncomfortably said, "Maybe the elder has watery eyes."
With this little episode, Sienna Thornton stopped crying. As they were about to get out of the car, she regained her usual composure, though her brow remained slightly furrowed from residual emotion.
Before getting out, Simon Forrester gazed at her deeply, smoothing the wrinkle between her brows with his hand, kissed her lips, then held her, gently patting her back, softly instructing, "When we go in, it might be a bit crowded, don’t be afraid, hold my hand, I’m here."
Sienna Thornton nodded shyly.
Simon Forrester cupped her face with his hands, unable to resist leaning down to peck her lips again, their foreheads touching, he whispered, "I love you."
"I love you too."
.
The auspicious moment arrived, the rear door of the black extended Phantom opened, and the man’s long, straight legs stepped out of the car.
Simon Forrester took up the red umbrella, walked to the other side of the car, and escorted the bride out.
It was rare to have such a brilliant spring day, and the ginkgo trees at the old house entrance had sprouted green buds.
The bride’s outfit, embroidered with golden threads, sparkled dazzlingly under the sunlight.
With one hand slightly lifting her skirt, and the other holding the groom’s arm, she gracefully walked toward the old house.
A crowd of onlookers gathered at the entrance, including Old Mr. King from next to the Grant Family.
The old man had come specifically to see what kind of girl could win over the Forrester Family’s sole heir. But the low-held red umbrella covered half of the bride’s face.
The onlookers could only discern that the Forrester Family’s granddaughter-in-law had a graceful figure and a delicate, attractive chin.
.
The newlyweds, accompanied by the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and best men, entered the Forrester Family’s old house courtyard.
The living room, crowded with people, opened a path as the newlyweds arrived.
The originally antique-styled living room was now adorned with bright, festive decorations. The flower windows were pasted with gold "Double Happiness" characters, and the golden candle holders held red candles. A variety of wedding items were neatly arranged in the corners...
Old Master Forrester sat happily in a specially arranged grand master’s chair, his eyes sparkling as he watched his grandson and granddaughter-in-law gracefully enter from outside, his joyful tears almost spilling out.
Before the newlyweds reached him, the old man got off his chair, his arms raised, softly saying, "Jules, Annie, come over quickly!"
He couldn’t wait to rush forward, to draw both new arrivals to him.
Grandma Forrester glanced at her husband, softly scolding, "Alright, alright, so many people watching, they’ll think you’re rushing for something."
Old Master Forrester pursed his lips and sat back in his grand master’s chair but still beamed at his grandson and granddaughter-in-law as they gracefully approached.
At that moment, all attention focused on the bride.
The Forrester Family relatives knew Simon Forrester well, but meeting Sienna Thornton for the first time aroused great curiosity.
Occasionally, at previous family gatherings, it was routine to inquire if the picky and reserved Forrester Family’s sole grandson had found a partner, and the Forest Family was tight-lipped. Recently, they suddenly sent out wedding invitations, arousing curiosity about who had captured the Forrester Family’s only heir.
