Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike

Chapter 660 - 631: Gathering to Cause Trouble

Chapter 660 - 631: Gathering to Cause Trouble

At this moment, Sienna Thornton truly understood one thing: when you’re alive, anything can happen.Ian Grant took a liking to Quentin Thorne and used coercive tactics; Zachary Grant, despite his age, still had a lecherous heart and was now enticing her to rely on him.

Sienna Thornton felt that if she stayed in this place for another second, she would immediately throw up. She banged on the door vigorously, "Open the door! Let me out!"

Zachary Grant sat on the sofa with an air of leisure, brazenly admiring her graceful curves.

Even though she was dressed in black today, the belt of her trench coat cinched her waist, perfectly outlining her impeccably proportioned figure.

Her hair was all pulled back into a high ponytail, and her delicate face exuded a mature woman’s charm.

In his eyes, the girl looked like a ripe peach...

As Zachary Grant was fantasizing, the study door suddenly gave a dull thud, as if someone was pounding on it from outside.

He pulled out his phone to call his eldest son stationed outside, but before he could dial, a call from the West District came through.

It was Kevin Chaucer’s father.

Frowning, he answered the call while keeping his eyes on Sienna Thornton, who was shaking the door lock, listening to the conversation.

After listening for a few seconds, he hung up the phone. Soon, another call came in.

The study door was still being pounded loudly.

Zachary Grant put away his phone, got up, and walked over.

Sienna Thornton quickly retreated to the side.

Zachary Grant used his fingerprint to unlock the door, glanced deeply at Sienna Thornton, and returned to the sofa to sit.

He pretended nothing had happened and started brewing tea.

Sienna Thornton quickly opened the door.

The first to rush in was Simon Forrester.

Seeing her husband come in, Sienna Thornton quickly hid behind him.

The second to come in was Quentin Thorne, who instinctively checked if his daughter’s outfit and hairstyle were still intact.

"Zachary Grant, what do you mean by this?!" Quentin Thorne exclaimed rudely, "If you have something to say, say it to me directly. There’s no need to talk alone with my daughter!"

Zachary Grant poured a new cup of tea onto the table, gesturing, "Come, Quentin, have some tea. I’ve already finished talking with Annie, now we can talk."

Quentin Thorne turned to Simon Forrester and said, "Take Annie back!"

Just as the two were leaving Zachary Grant’s study, suddenly more people rushed in from outside, crowding the study till it was full.

The person leading them shouted loudly, "We are from the West District Police Department, responding to a public report of a disturbance here! Everyone, sit down and show your ID!"

Upon hearing this, Zachary Grant’s face turned black, and he said to the Eldest Grant standing beside him, "Call the chief of the West District!"

At this moment, Seth Sutton emerged from the crowd, stopping the Eldest Grant from making a call, smiling, "Big brother, with so many people here, is it appropriate to pull strings in front of everyone?"

The Eldest Grant turned his head to glance at Zachary Grant and put away his phone.

Seth Sutton raised an eyebrow with a smile and went forward to negotiate with the leading policeman, "Brother, I’m from the criminal investigation team." He said as he showed his credentials.

The other glanced and smiled, "Oh, it’s Captain Sutton."

Seth Sutton also smiled, putting his arm around them as they moved aside, "I’m involved in tonight’s disturbance, so whatever you need to know, I’ll cooperate fully!"

"Then Captain Sutton, could you please explain what exactly happened tonight?"

Seth Sutton, hands in his pockets, turned to glance at Zachary Grant, then at Simon Forrester and his wife, chuckling, "How should I put it? Tonight we planned to treat the neighbors to dinner, but then two old men started a fight, and one of them called out thugs to capture the other old man’s grandson and his friends. They even brought the old man’s granddaughter-in-law to this room, not sure if it was for interrogation or what."

The other reacted immediately, shouting, "What? Thugs? With the nationwide crackdown on crime, who dares to secretly maintain a gang in the city? This is outrageous! Arrest all those involved!"

Hearing this, Zachary Grant was furious and stood up yelling, "Get your chief over here!"

The leading policeman ordered the arrest, Zachary Grant and the Eldest Grant resisted, and when Grant Two and Grant Three also joined the fray, the scene became chaotic.

In the end, it was unclear who called for Tobias Blackwood’s grandfather to come over.

The old man was about to rest for the night when he heard his grandson was bound by the Grant family’s thugs, enraging him enough to order his driver to take him down the mountain immediately.

Seth Sutton, seeing the main person in charge arrive, quickly gestured to his colleagues from the police department to withdraw, lest they get targeted by Zachary Grant, complicating matters later.

As soon as Old Master Blackwood entered the study, Zachary Grant, who was sitting leisurely on the sofa, had to get up and respectfully said, "Uncle Blackwood, you’re here."

Old Master Blackwood glanced at him irritably, walked to the main seat Zachary Grant had just vacated, and supported himself with a dragon-headed cane as he slowly sat down.

"Everyone sit down." The old master ordered, "Go call Old Master Grant over."

Zachary Grant hesitated, "My father has probably gone to sleep."

Old Master Blackwood glared, "Even if he’s asleep, wake him up for me!"

With no choice, Zachary Grant instructed Grant Two and Grant Three to bring Grandpa Grant over.

Old Master Blackwood scanned the faces of everyone in the study, his gaze finally locking on Simon Forrester and his wife, smiling, "When I was coming down the mountain, I saw your house’s lights off, so I thought you both would be here." Compared to the stern tone he used with Zachary Grant, the old master now appeared much more amiable.

Simon Forrester glanced at Zachary Grant and said to Old Master Blackwood, "Grandpa Grant said he was hosting a banquet for the neighbors tonight, who knew it would be a trap."

Hearing this, the old man’s eyes slowly turned to Zachary Grant, "We’re all our own people here, Zane, why act this way?"

Zachary Grant knew Old Master Blackwood had come down the mountain specifically to settle things, not to help him. He chose to remain silent.

After a moment, Grandpa Grant was brought in by his two grandsons.

Upon entering the study, seeing Simon Forrester and his wife still there, he thought he was called over to apologize again and immediately shouted, "I was right! I won’t apologize!"

Seth Sutton grinned, "Grandpa, Uncle just apologized on behalf of the Grant family to my sister-in-law in front of all the neighbors, saying he was actually against you all forcing my father-in-law to become a son-in-law back then. All the neighbors heard it, so whether you apologize now doesn’t matter."

Upon hearing this, Grandpa Grant nearly fainted.

Zachary Grant glared at Seth Sutton, running his hand back and forth along his waist, seemingly itching to pull out a belt and give Seth Sutton a lashing on the spot.

Old Master Blackwood astutely observed the expressions of everyone present.

Once Grandpa Grant was seated, he smiled and soothed, "Old Grant, I’m sorry to trouble you so late."

Grandpa Grant snorted, not responding.

Old Master Blackwood gestured for everyone to sit down.

He looked at everyone sitting in the study and singled out Seth Sutton, "Sutton, tell us, what exactly happened tonight?"

Seth Sutton then narrated the evening’s events from start to finish, vividly and in detail.
