This corruption energy burst forth like some kind of explosion around the imp with that roar. It was almost as if it was trying to attack anything that was close to it, but it didn't actually harm the other imps that were nearby.
At the same time, this energy only moved a bit away from the imp before turning back onto the imp.
It wasn't that the energy was being gathered inside the body of the imp, but rather because it was turning back to attack the imp. It was as if the imp had lost control of the dark corruption energy and now it was destroying him.
"No..."
That was all the imp got to say before the dark corruption energy collapsed on him. That was also the moment that I came back to my senses and used the Staff of Earth to raise the dirt under the imp.
This dirt wrapped up around the imp and completely surrounded him.
Part of this was because I was worried that the dark corruption energy coming from the imp would result in some kind of large explosion. The other part was because I was trying to stop the dark corruption energy from killing the imp.
The imp was willing to speak, so he was a good source of information.
I wouldn't let him die that easily if I could.
The only problem was that the burst of dark corruption energy was very intense and it didn't seem like I was able to stop it with the sacred dirt.
Though even if I was able to stop it, I knew that it wouldn't matter.
There was a reason why this imp had suddenly burst out in this explosion of dark corruption energy.
It was because whoever had given the imp this dark corruption energy had put this kind of dead man switch inside of them. The moment that it seemed like the imp was going to talk, this dead man switch was triggered and this explosion of dark corruption energy was supposed to keep the imp's mouth shut.
It seemed that whoever sent the demons here were far more cruel than I originally thought. In the end, I wasn't able to do a single thing for the imp.
There was only silence that followed, but soon...
"Ah! Save me!" There were these screams of pain that came from inside of the ball of dirt.
These screams of pain continued for a while before they became weaker and weaker and then they completely stopped.
I didn't open up the ball of dirt right away, I waited a bit before opening it up.
Once it was opened, the same thing appeared in front of us.
There was only a pool of melted flesh that was left.
The imp had been melted by the same dark corruption energy as before.
I narrowed my eyes to look at this pool of melted flesh before turning to look at the rest of the
imps.
They all trembled and tried to shuffle back, but they really couldn't do much since they were tied up.
However, I didn't do the same thing to them.
I just put down the Staff of Earth and said, "Send them back to the others. There's no point in trying to interrogate them."
All of the imps let out sighs of relief before looking at the soldiers around as if they were urging them to move faster.
The soldiers didn't react as fast as they looked at me with looks of doubt, but they eventually came back to their senses and followed my orders.
In no time at all, all of the imps were taken back to where the other demons were and my infamy spread amongst them.
As for me, I started looking at the orbs that the two imps and the giant asura left behind.
