Chapter 1196 - 1235: Ways to Solve Problems
The homeroom teacher and some other teachers in the office looked at Mrs. Field with sympathy. With her behavior, her husband’s position in the education department might be in jeopardy. Mr. Jun’s connections are massively extensive, and the city would likely be more than willing to do him this favor. In the future, it won’t be so easy for Mrs. Field to enjoy the vanity of being flattered and courted.
Seeing her mother like this, Mrs. Field’s daughter was also a bit scared. She had been weeping, but now she even forgot to cry.
Mabel Quinn noticed this and squatted down, speaking to her daughter, "Ivy, you and Bella had a fight. Shouldn’t you go and apologize?"
"But Bella Field doesn’t believe me. She even called me a liar!" the little one said defiantly.
"Well, you had a fight and... uh, you won. Did she end up believing what you said?" Mabel asked in return.
The little one shook her head, so Mabel added, "So, you see, fighting is not a solution to the problem. What we say can’t be believed by everyone. If someone believes you, they can be your friend. If not, you can’t force it." All in all, Mabel did not want her daughter to resolve issues by fighting.
As she spoke, she held her daughter’s hand and walked over to Bella Field. After all, children are innocent, and at five years old, their sense of right and wrong is limited.
Mrs. Field, however, became as tense as a startled bird when she saw Mabel approaching.
"You... what are you going to do?" Mrs. Field asked.
"Adults’ issues should remain with adults, children’s issues with children. Their fight was wrong, so let’s have them apologize to each other," Mabel said, then looking at her daughter, "Ivy, you start by setting an example and apologize to Bella, okay?"
"I’m sorry," little Ivy said readily, "Bella Field, I shouldn’t have hit you. But you shouldn’t call me a liar either. You can disbelieve me, but you can’t say that about me. If you say it again, I might hit you again."
Mabel felt a headache coming on. Well, it looks like education is a long journey, but she also didn’t want her daughter to be too weak. A stronger character is better.
"But you are a liar, this man is clearly your daddy..." Bella Field didn’t finish her words before her mother slapped her across the face, "Apologize now!"
Bella Field stood there stunned, then burst into tears. Ivy also froze, instinctively hiding behind Mabel.
Mabel said, "Mrs. Field, what are you doing?"
Mrs. Field struggled to force a smile, looking worse than if she were crying. "I’m asking her to apologize quickly. How could she talk like that to Mr. Jun’s daughter?" After speaking, she turned to Bella Field more sternly, "Apologize now!"
Seeing Mrs. Field raising her hand to slap the child again, Mabel quickly grabbed her hand, "Forget it, no need to apologize. It’s just a fight between children."
"Yes, yes, just a children’s scuffle! Please, you adults be generous and don’t hold my mistakes against me!" Mrs. Field said, bowing and scraping, completely different from how she had been before.
Mabel then turned to the homeroom teacher, "Well, Mr. Li, I’ll take Ivy home now."
