Lin Xuan Qi got to the factories next to check on how it was going.

And after making sure that things were fine in the factories, he went back to the mansion with someone familiar waiting for him.

"Master Sima Ye, glad to see that you are safe." Lin Xuan Qi cupped his hands at Sima Ye and said when he saw him.

Sima Ye gave out a sigh and said, "It’s great to see that you are doing well too."

"Please have a seat first." Lin Xuan Qi gestured with his hands and Sima Ye took a seat.

After they did so, servant girls quickly helped to pour warm tea for both of them.

Sima Ye picked up the teacup, put it to his nose and took a whiff of the fragrance from the tea.

And while he was doing that, he tried to use his Spiritual Sense to detect whether anyone in the Lin Mansion had any Spirit Qi.

To his surprise, he couldn’t feel any.

Maybe he had seen wrongly? He thought silently and took a sip of the tea.

Lin Xuan Qi felt the Spirit Sense from Sima Ye but he wasn’t too alarmed by it.

He had expected Sima Ye to suspect something the moment he asked Lee He Song to help with getting Sima Ye and Sima Long to safety.

Thankfully, the Five-Element Qi was something different and the Spirit Sense wasn’t able to figure it out.

After he took a sip from his teacup as if nothing had happened, Lin Xuan Qi asked, "How is it now with the Six Pulse Sword Sect?"

Sima Ye placed the teacup down onto the table and snorted, "We’ve driven them out of Hong Feng City for the time being.

"The elders are recuperating for the time being before we make a final assault on the Six Pulse Sword Sect with the Qing Feng Sect."

"But the emperor..." Lin Xuan Qi wasn’t too sure what it would mean for the arrangement where the cultivator would be the guardian for Hong Feng City and he asked.

But from what he had heard so far, it seemed like the emperor wasn’t as in control as he had thought.

Sima Ye’s reply confirmed his doubts.

"The Qing Feng Sect have sent a complaint to the emperor, asking him to let the Qing Feng Sect deal with it.

"And as for the guardian of the city, the Qing Feng Sect would send someone to take over."

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head but he couldn’t help but think that it seemed like the Qing Feng Sect was the overall winner in all of this.

Even the Sima Family suffered huge losses while the Qing Feng Sect came in and swept everything up.

It seemed to him that the Qing Feng Sect might not be what they seemed to be.

"Seems like the Qing Feng Sect is increasing its reach after this." Lin Xuan Qi took another sip of his teacup and said, "How is the Sima Family doing right now?

"I hope that the Sima Family has recovered well."

That was the best he could do to give Sima Ye a hint without being too blunt.

Sima Ye gave out a long sigh when he heard Lin Xuan Qi.

He too was trying to figure out what had happened in the Qing Feng Sect.

And the damage to the Sima Family might take decades to recover.

"The Sima Family lost a few of our elders with some of them heavily wounded and many of our younger family members were also killed.

"Thanks to my ancestor Sima Liang, we were able to hold them off at the very last few moments.

"We would have perished if it wasn’t for him.

"Right now, we are trying to get the Sima Family back to what it was but it would take some time...."

Cultivators at Core Formation and Nascent Soul Level were rare and having some of them killed and wounded meant that the Sima Family would take years to have someone else take over.

Sima Ye gave out another sigh and said, "That’s why I’m here.

"I might not be available as often in the following days and you might have to be on your own dealing with the soap and Lin Clan Taste Transcendent businesses."

Lin Xuan Qi quickly cupped his hands at Sima Ye and said, "I understand.

"It’s my business after all, and I have friends like Master Hou Fei Li and Mistress Lu Ting I can seek help from.

"So, don’t worry too much about me."

"That’s good to hear." Sima Ye nodded his head and said, "As for my nephew, he might not be the brightest but he could help if you need him to."

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and said, "I will certainly do so."

He wasn’t sure if Sima Ye was asking him to take care of Sima Long because of changes that were not too advantageous for Sima Long in the Sima Family, or if it was just a casual reminder to him.

And from his understanding of Sima Ye, he figured that it was the former.

Things might have changed and it wasn’t looking too good for Sima Long.

Lin Xuan Qi might have to meet up with Sima Long to ask about it.

But in the meantime, he had better think about the changes with the new guardian from the Qing Feng Sect coming.

Coupled with what he had heard about the Governor, things might get interesting in Hong Feng City and he had better be more prepared for it.

"Join us for dinner later if you aren’t in a hurry." Lin Xuan Qi asked but Sima Ye shook his head.

"I have to hurry and settle a few things before it gets dark."

"Then, I shall not insist on it." Lin Xuan Qi stood up and walked with Sima Ye out of the mansion.

And as Sima Ye’s entourage of guards got further away in the snow-covered street, he could see that the number of guards was far less than it was before.

He felt the chilling winter wind blowing across his face and he quickly turned around to get back to the warmth of the mansion.
