Chapter 126 President, You're So Fierce
Chapter 126 President, You're So Fierce
Yu Heng contacted a bar on the university town's commercial street because he was scheduled to film on Saturday.
I asked if I could borrow the bar during its off-peak hours so that I could tag it when I post videos, and the owner readily agreed.
The reason for using a bar setting is because the Soul Pawnshop is set in a bar.
On Saturday morning, Yu Heng pushed open the bar door.
The main lights weren't on inside; only a few wall lamps were lit.
The owner was a man in his forties, standing at the bar wiping glasses.
"You're here?" The boss looked up at him. "How long are you going to film?"
"If things go smoothly, we can finish filming in half a day," Yu Heng said. "It definitely won't interfere with your business."
"Alright," the boss smiled, "I only open at six o'clock in the evening. Take as many pictures as you like, and take whatever you need, just be careful not to break anything. If you need drinks, you can use the opened ones on the bar, just don't rummage around."
"Thanks, Uncle," Yu Heng said, placing his bag on the booth. "I'll definitely give you the location when I send the video."
The boss waved his hand and went upstairs.
Yu Heng began setting up the venue, taking out a camera, tripod, and reflector from his bag.
Before nine o'clock, Liu Hewei was the first to arrive. Yu Heng asked him to be the director's assistant.
He pushed the door open and came in, carrying two cups of soy milk: "President, have you had breakfast?"
"I've eaten." Yu Heng took the soy milk. "Where are the others?"
"It should be soon," Liu Hewei put down his backpack and looked around. "This place is really nice. It must be quite expensive to come here at night, right?"
"So we need to film it well," Yu Heng said, unscrewing the soy milk and taking a sip, "to give people a good publicity boost."
The door was pushed open again, and Chen Yuqiang and Zhang Tingting came in together.
"President," Chen Yuqiang greeted, "We're not late, are we?"
"Perfect timing," Yu Heng glanced at his phone, "There are still two stagehands and the lead actor who haven't arrived yet."
No sooner had he finished speaking than the door was pushed open again.
Two student staff members, a boy and a girl, came in. The boy's name was Li Fan, and the girl's name was Sun Xiaohui. They were both newcomers to the Starlight Club.
"Hello, President," Li Fan said somewhat nervously, "What should we do?"
"Set up the equipment first," Yu Heng pointed to the camera bag in the corner, "and follow Liu Hewei's instructions."
Liu Hewei immediately straightened his back: "Come with me."
A while later, Zhou Mengqi arrived, carrying a small bag. After entering the room, her gaze swept around and finally landed on Yu Heng.
"President," she said with a smile as she walked over, "I'm not late, am I?"
"No," Yu Heng glanced at her, "Go sit over there first, and we'll discuss the script once everyone's here."
Wang Luyu arrived jogging, panting, "Sorry, club president, I overslept..."
"It's alright," Yu Heng glanced at the time, "You two go change into your outfits for the camera first."
Wang Luyu nodded, picked up the bag, and walked towards the restroom with Zhou Mengqi.
The bathroom was small; it was a bit cramped for two people to turn around.
Zhou Mengqi opened her handbag and took out the clothes she had prepared.
This is the black bodycon skirt we bought online together before.
She took off her coat and sweater, revealing a tank top underneath.
Wang Luyu pulled a beige suspender dress out of the bag; the neckline was rather low.
She looked at the dress and bit her lip.
"What's wrong?" Zhou Mengqi had already put on her bodycon skirt and was adjusting the hem in front of the mirror.
"Isn't this dress... a bit too revealing?" Wang Luyu whispered.
"That's how it's set up in the script," Zhou Mengqi said without turning her head. "We're all mature women in the story."
Wang Luyu didn't say anything, and slowly took off her hoodie and jeans.
She was wearing a white bra underneath; it wasn't big, but it had a nice shape.
Zhou Mengqi glanced at her in the mirror: "You have a great figure, what are you afraid of?"
"It's just...not used to it." Wang Luyu put on the sundress and looked down at her chest. The neckline was indeed low, and a little cleavage could be seen.
Zhou Mengqi had already gotten ready; her bodycon skirt clung tightly to her hips and thighs, its length just short of her knees.
She turned around, facing the mirror, and bent down to adjust the wrinkles on her chest.
From this angle, Wang Luyu could see the view inside her neckline—a deep, black lace trim.
Wang Luyu looked at her, feeling a little envious.
When the two came out of the bathroom, the equipment had already been set up outside.
Liu Hewei was adjusting the camera when he heard footsteps. He looked up, then immediately lowered his head, his ears turning slightly red.
Li Fan and Sun Xiaohui were tidying up the reflectors when they saw them and were also taken aback.
"President, we're ready." Zhou Mengqi walked up to Yu Heng.
Yu Heng was looking at his phone when he heard this. He looked up and glanced at her. "Okay, come over here and let's talk about the script."
Yu Heng walked to the wall and turned on the air conditioner. Warm air slowly blew out, and the room began to warm up.
Several people sat down around the table. Yu Heng took out a printed script from his bag and handed one to each person.
"We're filming the first episode of a series of short dramas this time," Yu Heng said. "The premise is that the owner of this bar has special abilities. Every night after midnight, the place turns into a pawn shop, catering to customers with special needs. Customers can pawn their memories, emotions, or certain abilities in exchange for what they want."
After Yu Heng finished speaking, he said, "You guys go through it once first. No need to turn on the camera. Just go over the lines."
The people on camera started going over the script, and Yu Heng went to a table to the side and lit a cigarette.
After taking a couple of puffs, Zhou Mengqi sat down next to him with the script in her hand, her arm almost touching his: "President, do I have to keep a very calm expression throughout this?"
"Yes, your character is someone who has lived for thousands of years and has seen all the world's affairs. There's nothing that can make you emotionally fluctuate anymore," Yu Heng said, subtly nudging her chest with his arm.
Zhou Mengqi's body stiffened for a moment, but she didn't dodge. Instead, she maintained that position and pushed back a little more.
Then, pointing to the script, she said, "President, should I pause here before turning around?"
"Yes," Yu Heng said, feeling the soft touch and contours of his arm.
Zhou Mengqi looked up at him, her eyes crinkling into a smile: "Okay, President, I'm a little nervous."
"What are you so nervous about?" Yu Heng asked, looking at her.
"I'm afraid I won't act well," Zhou Mengqi said.
"Just do as I said," Yu Heng said.
"If I don't act well, will you scold me?" Zhou Mengqi tilted her head and looked at him.
"Yes," Yu Heng said.
Zhou Mengqi laughed: "Then how are you going to scold me?"
Yu Heng glanced at her, then nudged her with his elbow as he spoke: "I'll keep scolding you until you finish your performance."
Zhou Mengqi licked her lips: "What if I keep acting badly?"
"Then don't act anymore." Yu Heng squinted at her.
"President, you're so fierce." Zhou Mengqi didn't feel embarrassed at all; instead, she smiled and said, "But I like it."
