Chapter 111 Revealed
The following afternoon, when Harry awoke from his deep sleep, he was surprised to find that Headmaster Dumbledore was by his bedside.
Dumbledore told Harry that Voldemort had ultimately escaped successfully.
Harry seized the opportunity to ask many questions, and Dumbledore answered most of them.
Regarding Harry's parents, and why Snape hated Harry so much.
And the final disposal plan for the Philosopher's Stone,
"I will return it to my friend."
"Dumbledore said."
But there was a hint of doubt and regret in his tone that Harry couldn't detect.
Since the Philosopher's Stone was handed to him, he and Nick—the creator and owner of the Philosopher's Stone—have had several discussions about its future.
In their previous discussions, they had reached a preliminary consensus that destroying the magic stone was the best solution.
But in Nick's letter this morning, his tone became more ambiguous, saying he needed to engage in more detailed and personal reflection.
Even facing an old friend with far more life experience than himself, Dumbledore couldn't fathom what he was thinking.
But I'm afraid he won't choose to destroy the Philosopher's Stone.
Dumbledore had a vague idea of Nick's final choice.
But the Philosopher's Stone is Nick's own property, and he can only follow Nick's wishes.
After the conversation, Dumbledore left.
Next came Ron and Hermione's visit, but even after pleading with Madam Pomfrey, he only got five minutes of time with his friends.
Then came the precious gift from Hagrid—a photo album filled with pictures of his parents.
Harry looked at the photos in the album over and over again. Finally, he hugged the album to his chest, lay on the hospital bed, and thought about his parents whom he had never met.
Naturally, he thought of Voldemort, who had taken his parents away from him.
Then I remembered what happened last night.
Clearly, Dumbledore was not unprepared for Voldemort's arrival; the room where he met Dumbledore was the best proof of this, as he had been watching the events unfold closely.
No.
It wasn't him.
It was them.
Dumbledore, Professor Lynch, and Harry recalled the figure in the room last night, dressed in a suit and standing before them, looking more like a Muggle than a wizard.
But Professor Lynch is a genuine wizard, and a very powerful one at that!
He could see it clearly from the sidelines: Voldemort could only defend himself against Professor Lynch; he was being completely overwhelmed.
Professor Lynch didn't even move an inch until Voldemort exploded!
On the contrary, Voldemort was running around everywhere.
The thought of the explosion reminded Harry of the room that appeared out of nowhere, made entirely of white stone bricks, which limited the power of Voldemort's explosion.
At the time, he felt that the stone bricks looked familiar. Now that he thinks about it, those stone bricks are exactly the same as the stone bricks on the stone path that Professor Lynch paved in the Forbidden Forest!
Harry suddenly felt that there were many mysteries surrounding Professor Lynch.
He was a powerful wizard. According to Ron, there were few wizards as powerful as him in the wizarding world, but before he became a professor at Hogwarts, no one had ever heard of his name.
He was pragmatic, ruthless, and strict. The hellish long run in the Magic Research class was a nightmare for every student who participated, but it had a real effect on improving their magical abilities.
It's a fact that everyone at Hogwarts knows he doesn't get along with Professor McGonagall, but he works closely with Professor Dumbledore. Judging from the two chairs in that room last night, Professor Lynch and Dumbledore might be closer than anyone at the school thinks.
He was also friends with Snape and had a house-elf dressed in a distinctive outfit.
He would affectionately call himself Harry.
Who exactly is he?
A sentence Voldemort said last night flashed through his mind.
It was like a bolt of lightning striking his head.
Harry suddenly sat up in bed.
His movements were so dramatic that they alerted Mrs. Pomfrey.
Mrs. Pomfrey rushed over, her face showing concern and a hint of reproach: "Potter! What happened? You need to rest, you can't do such strenuous activity! Is your wound hurting? Or did you have a nightmare?"
Harry's heart was pounding so hard in his chest it felt like it would burst out of his chest.
His eyes widened, his pupils contracting in shock, as he realized he knew something astonishing.
"N-nothing, madam," Harry gasped, trying to keep his voice calm, "it was just—just a very vivid dream. I'm sorry, I startled you."
He lay back down, but his body was stiff and he couldn't relax at all.
Mrs. Pomfrey looked at him with suspicion for a while, then took his temperature, conducted a thorough examination, and told him to rest well before leaving.
Once the ward returned to quiet, Harry's thoughts raced wildly once more.
"Hello...the hangman..."
The first words Voldemort said to Professor Lynch last night echoed in his mind. The situation was critical at the time, and he didn't have time to think about that unique title.
But now, combining all the clues, a legendary figure appeared in his mind—the Mist Hangman!
A powerful wizard who appeared out of nowhere, Dumbledore's extraordinary trust in him, and their pre-existing acquaintance...
All of this has an explanation.
Professor Lynch was the legendary wizard who was active in the magical world more than a decade ago, and who struck fear into the hearts of countless dark wizards!
Harry thought of the wizarding battle card he had kept in his dormitory box, the precious card he had obtained on the Hogwarts Express, the dark gold legendary card—"The Mist-Gallows".
Harry lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Knowing Professor Lynch's true identity only made him more curious about him.
Why did Professor Lynch hide his true identity? Why was he at Hogwarts? Dumbledore should have known Professor Lynch's true identity, but did Professor McGonagall know? Ron said Snape used to be a Blacksmith, so why were they on good terms? Was Snape really a good person, as Dumbledore said?
Countless questions filled his mind.
Just then, he heard the sound of the school clinic door opening.
Someone came in and spoke quietly to Mrs. Pomfrey.
Harry heard footsteps approaching him.
He opened his eyes and saw Professor Lynch, who had been swirling in his mind, standing before him.
"Professor Lynch!" Harry hurriedly sat up and greeted Professor Lynch.
But Professor Lynch's first words left Harry speechless:
"Actually, you should call me Uncle Lynch."
