Chapter 668: Bullying Narven
Chapter 668: Bullying Narven
“I can’t believe anyone would want to date that brat,” Kalre said in disbelief before asking, “Hey, average guy, do you even know the things that Tephe did in the past?”
“Brat?” Tephe asked angrily, since it was the second time Kalre had called her that.
“Nope, no idea, I’m from outside the known universe,” Adam replied calmly while he unhooked his arm from Tephe’s and carefully avoided Maiya, who was glaring at Kalre, before he gently stroked Tephe’s white hair in order to calm her down.
The angry look on Tephe’s face instantly vanished when she felt Adams's touch and she closed her eyes to enjoy it.
“Wow,” Deirlo said as the four dragons all watched the scene in amazement before Narven realised something and asked.
“You're from outside the known universe?”
“Of course he is,” Tephe replied with her eyes still closed before adding, “Hence my earlier statement.”
“Now, if you’ll excuse us,” Revi said as she attempted to pass Narven but was once again stopped as he asked.
“What’s he doing on Fenix Nest?”
“And why shouldn’t he be here?” Revi asked with a frown.
“As far as I was aware, Fenix Nest is off limits to all except the dragon race or those with special permission to visit,” Narven replied.
“Exactly, special permission,” Revi replied before asking with a raised eyebrow, “Or are you saying that my permission, the empress's permission, is not enough?”
“You personally invited him?” Narven asked in shock.
“Yes, along with my goddaughter and their friends,” Revi replied.
“So it’s true that Divas Lorelie, Rowena and Aphrodite are here on Fenix Nest?” Deirlo asked in excitement.
“I already told you that, sister,” Denog said with a sigh before adding, “Diva Lorelie even recently suffered an attempt on her life.”
“Oh, right,” Deirlo realised before asking, “How is she? I hope she's ok.”
“She’s fine, just currently resting,” Adam answered.
“That’s good,” Deirlo said with a sigh before adding, “I was hoping to get her autograph while I was here.”
“Deirlo,” Narven said in annoyance.
“What?” Deirlo snapped back before adding, “My brother might follow you, but I don’t. I only tagged along because I heard that the divas were here.”
“Calm down, sister,” Denog remarked.
“Whatever,” Deirlo replied while crossing her arms and looking away, though if anyone paid close attention to her eyes, they would see them filled with curiosity as she glanced at Tephe.
“I understand now,” Narven said before smugly looking at Adam and saying, “So you're only here because of your association with the three divas and Tephe here.”
“If by association you mean being the boyfriend of Divas Lorelie and Rowena, then you would still be wrong,” Revi said smugly.
“Boyfriend?” Narven asked in surprise.
“You didn’t know?” Tephe asked with a smile as she glanced at Narven smugly before closing her eyes again.
“How don’t you know he’s dating them?” Deirlo asked in disbelief before adding, “It’s been all over the newscasts.”
“Cough.” Narven coughed slightly before adding, “I was… busy.”
“Uh-huh,” Revi replied with narrowed eyes before adding, “I’m sure we can all guess what you were busy with, or should I say who.”
“I resent that accusation, Phoenix Empress,” Narven retorted.
“Then I apologise,” Revi replied before waving her hand in a dismissive gesture while saying, “Now please leave, you're ruining my date.”
“Date?” Narven asked in shock, while the Phoenix citizens who had been observing their interaction and listening to their conversation gasped and broke out in a ruckus at the news.
“Yes, a date,” Revi replied while rolling her eyes before asking, “I’m assuming a dragon with multiple lovers knows what a date is?”
“Wouldn’t count on it,” Deirlo muttered with a smirk, causing Narven to glare at her.
“Sister,” Denog said with a sigh.
“How long do you plan to keep stroking the white dragon's hair, average guy?” Kalre suddenly asked.
“I don’t know,” Adam replied before looking at Tephe and asking, “How long should I continue stroking your hair for?”
“Forever,” Tephe replied dreamily, causing the four dragons' mouths to drop open in surprise.
“Did… did… did White Dragon Tephe really just react that way?” Kalre asked in disbelief.
“I think so,” Deirlo replied as even she was shocked at seeing this side of the spoiled brat that was White Dragon Tephe.”
“You really have a bad reputation, huh?” Adam said with a chuckle.
“It’s not my fault,” Tephe pouted as she opened her eyes to look at Adam before adding, “Blame Tephe Two.”
“Tephe Two?” They all repeated confusion.
“Oh, errrr, nothing,” Tephe said while closing her eyes again, but this time it was more to avoid the eyes of the others.
“Err, right,” Narven replied as he gave Tephe a strange look before turning back to Revi and asking, “What makes this guy so special that he deserves a date with you when you have turned down every offer I have made?”
“What’s wrong, jealous?” Revi asked with a smirk before purposefully pulling Adams' arm even deeper into her cleavage.
“Jealous, me? Of an average-looking guy like him?” Narven scoffed before adding, “No chance.”
“Then what business is it of yours who I date?” Revi asked.
Narven opened his mouth to reply, but Revi cut him off as she added, “And before you say something stupid like only I’m worthy of the stunningly beautiful Phoenix Empress Revi, who all men dream of marrying, remember that I will decide who is and isn’t worthy of me marrying.”
“Laying it on a bit thick there, don’t you think?” Adam asked with a chuckle.
“What, you don’t find me stunningly beautiful?” Revi asked in a hurt tone while pouting.
“It was more the ‘who all men dream of marrying,” Adam replied.
“It was just a metaphor,” Revi retorted before smiling at Adam and happily saying, “I’m glad you find me stunningly beautiful, though.”
“Dudes like totally not flustered at all that he’s out on a date with the Phoenix Empress,” Kalre remarked in surprise before asking, “Do you think it’s possible that he doesn’t know how he’s the first person to ever date her?”
“It’s possible, I mean, if he really is from outside the known universe like he claims,” Denog replied.
Revi rolled her eyes before saying, “Not that it’s any of your business, but he’s well aware that he’s the first person I have ever dated or been intimate with.”
“Wait, you two have been intimate?” Kalre asked in surprise.
“You go, girl,” Deirlo said supportively while glancing at Narven with a smirk.
“Sorry, sorry,” Revi apologised before smirking at Narven and saying, “What I meant to say was, the first I plan to be intimate with after this date.”
“Don’t forget about me,” Tephe said as she opened one eye and smirked at Narven.
Narven’s eyebrow was now twitching almost nonstop, and you could almost hear him grinding his teeth as Deirlo looked at Tephe and asked, “Do his head pats really feel that good?”
“Yup, even Stacey, Lorelie and Rowena think so,” Tephe said smugly.
“Oi, average guy,” Narven said; however, Adam ignored him as he turned to Tephe and said, “Well, your hair is so smooth and silky, I really like how it feels.”
“Hehe,” Tephe giggled proudly.
“Then what about my hair?” Revi asked with a pout before adding, “You’ve never given me a head pat.”
“Do you want one, oh, stunningly beautiful Phoenix Empress?” Adam asked with a smirk.
“Well, if you're offering,” Revi said as she released his arm and tilted her head towards him slightly.
“Seriously? The Phoenix Empress is asking for a head pat?” Kalre asked wide-eyed, while the Phoenix citizens watching all showed looks of surprise and interest.
Adam shook his head and reached up to pat Revi’s hair, but before he could, a hand reached out and grabbed his wrist. Narven said, “I asked you a question.”
After Revi failed to feel Adam’s touch that she looked forward to and heard Narven’s words. She looked up to find Narven clutching Adam’s wrist and preventing him from giving her the head pat she wanted.
“What, might I ask, do you think you're doing?” Revi asked in a cold tone and with narrowed eyes.
“Err, Narven, it might be best if you release him,” Denog warned in a low tone.
“Finally couldn’t take it anymore, huh?” Deirlo asked with a smirk.
After hearing Denog’s warning, Narven realised that he had messed up and quickly released Adam’s wrist.
He knew that what he had done had upset the Phoenix Empress, had been pursuing all this time and that laying a hand on her honour guest could turn this into an international incident.
“My apologies,” Narven quickly said, though it sounded hollow and he made no gesture of apology.
“For laying your hands on the honoured guest of my race, I am well within my right to punish you and would have already done so by burning you with my flames if it wouldn’t cause an international incident with our dragon friends,” Revi stated angrily.
