Chapter 888: Faith And Religion
Chapter 888: Faith And Religion
"... Glory Be To the Alpha God!" The Six-Horned Man said as he collapsed to his knees and cried to the dark heavens. His six yellow eyes were dazed and it looked like he had been transported to another place or dimension, being in two places at once.
From his body, his aura surged fully and it could be felt in its complete essence.
Standing over the body of the Primordial Badger, Wei looked at this six-horned man with a sense of awe.
She felt genuine awe and she didn’t understand why. It felt like she was witnessing a prophecy being fulfilled.
It was magnificent.
The Primordial sheep in the form of a man had his hand raised to the sky. Only he knew what he was seeing and sensing at this time.
The Primordial Dove was also confused. She and the Primordial Sheep had powers that complemented each other very well.
They were symbiotic creatures that were more efficient when they cooperated. It was the reason why they were here in Horror Heaven together in the first place.
But right now, she didn’t know what she was seeing nor did she know what she was feeling.
All she knew was that her connection to the Primordial Sheep was telling her that the primary source of faith was undergoing a significant change.
Wei on the other hand was still confused. She shook her head, clearing away the feeling of awe in her head and coming back to her senses.
"What’s happening?" She asked. That was when she actually felt it.
The arrival.
Alora and Chloe, who were in the sky, also turned their heads and looked at each other.
They felt like they were in the presence of an ever-expanding and infinite source of power.
The All-King.
As if to confirm their words, a new message appeared on the systems and everyone was alerted.
[Ding! The Horse System has been established. The Law of Transportation has been acquired.
Ding! The Phoenix System has been established. The Law of Rebirth has been acquired.
Attention: The Law of Rebirth and the Law of Transportation are being integrated into the systems.
New features incoming.]
The new alert stunned everyone connected to the Alpha System within and outside the Alphaverse.
Now it made sense why the Primordial Sheep was currently on his knees, shaking and trembling as he cried out to the heavens with joy.
He was connected to the All-King as that was his biggest source of Faith Essence. The more people believed in the All-King, the more both he and the All-King got stronger.
Even though he had faith in the All-King, he had a firm foundation to place his beliefs in.
Obviously, as long as Kael did something miraculous, like creating new Primordials from scratch, that would have an indirect effect on the whole system.
It made sense that the Primordial Sheep was like this. No one may be able to feel what he was feeling but he was definitely in his own world of ecstasy.
Wei looked at the Primordial six-winged dove and established a telepathic channel with her.
The Primordial Dove was brought back to the present thoughts and priorities.
"Continue with the collection of the Centipedes and register them in the Vassal Records," Wei said as she began to walk away.
She flicked her fingers and a stream of water snaked down her legs and onto the floor.
The water solidified into transparent whips that coiled around the neck of the unconscious Primordial Badger.
Unceremoniously, the Primordial Badger was lifted out of the crater easily and his body dangled as it hung by his neck.
"Your Highness, if I may ask..." The Primordial Dove decided to ignore her colleague for now and flapped her three pairs of wings to get closer to Wei quickly.
"Ask," Wei said. She did not stop walking and the unconscious form of the Primordial Badger was brought to her side.
"Why hasn’t the Primordial Centipede been revisited or why is he not here doing all this work?" The Primordial Dove asked.
With her crystal grey eyes, she looked at Wei’s face from the side, hoping to read some more emotional cues from the face alone.
When Wei turned her face to look her directly in the eyes, the Primordial Dove subconsciously turned away.
"He’s being modified," Wei said, "His crimes against the royal race can be forgiven, but they are not forgotten.
He needs to be re-educated on the immensity of the heavens and understand the consequences of his actions," Wei said as she relaxed her shoulders.
The Primordial Centipede was currently in the custody of the All-King himself and his assistant.
"Are you tired?" Wei asked.
The Primordial Dive shook her head, "No, Your Highness. I actually seek to work and fight for the All-King as soon as possible.
I wish to show him my usefulness and achieve Singularity as fast as I can," She was painfully honest as she smiled and imagined the laughter she and the All-King would share once she achieved Singularity.
Once she achieved Singularity, she would become Religion itself and she would be able to organise all the creatures of the Alphaverse to worship the All-King properly.
The Primordial Sheep would help too but she always imagined that she would be doing most of the work.
Wei nodded her head but didn’t smile at the Primordial Dove. She wasn’t being cold, she just lacked the desire to engage empathically with anyone other than the All-King.
As long as it did not involve her obsessive desire to be and remain Kael’s consort and as long as no one was threatening her position, she would do the bare minimum.
"Do not worry, Dove," Wei said, "Times are changing, and more than enough conflicts will come.
You will tire of all the warring and killing one day, you will be weary.
But you will not stop fighting, you had better not," After spitting out those ominous words, Wei jumped into the air and flew away with the unconscious Primordial Badger still following her.
The Primordial Dove looked at Wei’s back fanatically. She imagined and created a false reality in her mind, picturing what that day would be like.
She imagined that it would be a fight across heavens and earths, a battle where the lions shall ride upon the radiance of a million stars and a thousand more arkships.
She imagined that even the most useless weakling would be forced to become a trained fighter.
There would be no room for weakness during that time. The weak ones would be the first to die, so there was nothing to be worried about.
But she yearned for that day. Sure, she would feel weary. Sure, she would tire. Sure, the battle will weigh on her.
But she would feel fulfilled.
As for whether she would stop? No one knew.
For the sake of the All-King, not many may be willing to fight to the death. They might be fanatical, but their sense of survival and desire to live could override all orders in the final moment.
That was why the Primordial Sheep was here with her. The Primordial Dove smiled strangely.
She knew that Religion and Faith not only thrived very well in chaotic times, but they were also a very good tool for making others do things they would never do.
Faith on its own could let anyone forget about their self-preservation instincts, believing that they were dying for a just cause and a real god.
Oh, how false.
The Primordial Dive understood the workings of religion like the back of her hand. She understood that almost anything could be deified and worshiped.
Anything could be glorified, but only the All-King deserved all the worship.
Her own contribution to the ongoing System Integrations plan was to create platforms for organised religions and sects.
She had planned it all out in her mind, thousands of religions spread across the Alphaverse and although they all had different belief templates, they would still worship the same Alpha God.
It was a recipe for an everlasting Chaos as anyone knew, having more than two religions in one place was sure to keep world peace far away.
"I look forward to that day," The Primordial Dove muttered to herself.
Then, she flapped her wings and flew back to her colleague, the six-horned Primordial Sheep. She had questions to ask and needed confirmation about their upcoming plans.
Up above, Wei, Alora, and Chloe were together and the Primordial Badger was locked in a cocoon of frozen water.
"All had been cleared here, we’ll drop the Badger at the Apex Pyramid and give him to Zabita or Anastasia.
Too bad Katari is not free to teach him a lesson," Chloe lamented. As jovial and easy-going as she was, she did not like it when one person constantly interrupted their plans and they had to step in every time to fix the issue.
"I’m sure Anastasia will keep him company until the All-King has his time. We’ll keep him with the Primordial Centipede," Alora said coldly, already calculating how much free space they would have now that they were taking this action.
Although the Lion Hegemony already had about two hundred and fifty plus Primordials in its League of Primordials, they had a lot more race profiles in their Vassal Records, thousands.
"Speaking of which, we have two new Primordials," Wei said, folding her arms as she tried to imagine how the Primordial Horse and Primordial Phoenix would fit into Kael’s grand design.
