The place where she had her styling done was in the city center! She thought it wouldn’t take long to reach the destination! However, not only had they left the city center, but they had arrived in an environment entirely unfamiliar to her! Pete explained, "I forgot to mention to Madam that today’s banquet is set on a yacht! So now, I’m taking Madam to the yacht!"
"On the yacht?" Ye Anxin paused slightly, never having imagined that today’s banquet would be held on water!
Nonetheless, she had never attended a banquet on the water before! It was certainly more interesting than having it in a villa.
The driver continued driving forward, going on for a very long time, during which Ye Anxin’s stomach began growling with hunger!
Just as Ye Anxin was about to ask how much longer it would take, the business car finally stopped!
Pete got off first, then gentlemanly opened the car door for Mu Ye Anxin.
As soon as she stepped off the car, her eyes were greeted by a vast expanse of river water! A yacht was parked along the dark riverbank, emanating soft and warm light from all over it! Illumining much of the surrounding river surface!
Her understanding of yachts wasn’t much; previously, she had only occasionally seen them on television! This should be the first yacht she truly laid eyes on! Even though she wasn’t familiar with yachts, she could tell this yacht was big, really big, with a total of three levels, each lighting up outside, belonging to the luxurious and large kind!
The entire yacht was painted white, and it seemed there were words written beside it, but due to the angle, Ye Anxin couldn’t see clearly what the words were!
At that moment, a cool breeze brushed against her face! The chill made Ye Anxin involuntarily shiver.
It’s spring now, the temperature warming up, neither day nor night do you feel any chill anymore! Yet, because Ye Anxin was standing by the river, the wind blowing from the river carried a biting cold feeling!
Seeing Ye Anxin staring blankly at the yacht, Pete walked over and said with a smile, "Madam, the President is already on board waiting for you, let me help you up!"
"Okay!" Ye Anxin nodded her head, following Pete as they walked forward!
Because they were on the beach, and she was wearing high heels, she hadn’t taken more than a couple steps before her heel sank into the sand.
"Ah...!" Ye Anxin called out softly, twisting her ankle, causing her whole body to fall towards the sand.
Seeing her petite figure about to hit the ground, hours of styling about to go to waste, luckily at the crucial moment, Pete turned around, quickly steadied her arm, stabilizing her body.
Pete hurriedly asked with concern, "Madam, are you alright?"
"I’m fine!" Ye Anxin shook her head, her face pale!
"Madam, sorry, it was my oversight! Come, let me support you!" Saying this, he held Ye Anxin’s arm, cautiously guiding her step by step towards the yacht.
Ye Anxin gritted her teeth as she walked with difficulty towards the yacht.
With every step, she felt a ripping pain from her ankle! Only, to keep Pete from worrying, she had to temporarily endure the pain, planning to apply medicine after heading home from tonight’s banquet.
With Pete’s support, Ye Anxin finally boarded the yacht!
Walking on the yacht’s deck, the attentive Pete quickly noticed the abnormality in Ye Anxin, asking with concern, "Madam, what’s wrong? Did you sprain your ankle just now?"
Ye Anxin quickly shook her head in explanation, "I’m fine! It’s just uncomfortable walking with such high heels on the yacht!"
"Really alright? Shouldn’t I check it for you?" Pete skeptically lowered his head, peering at Ye Anxin’s ankle!
Ye Anxin unnervedly hid her foot behind the other, smiling as she said, "There’s really no need! The banquet is about to start; we can’t be late, it would be humiliating for Uncle!"
Taking in Ye Anxin’s subtle actions, Pete was quite sure that indeed Madam’s foot was sprained during that twist!
But Madam was right; tonight was a special occasion, and the President was already inside the yacht waiting. Even if Madam was injured now, it wouldn’t do to take her away!
Furthermore, since she could walk on it, it proved her injury wasn’t serious. Later, mentioning it to the President, letting him apply ice for Madam should suffice!
Thinking this, Pete refrained from further questioning, guiding Ye Anxin into the yacht!
The deeper inside they went, the more puzzled Ye Anxin became, "Brother Pete, isn’t there a banquet tonight? Why is it so quiet, as if there’s no one inside?"
Pete smiled as he explained, "This yacht is very large, everyone is inside and hasn’t come out yet! Once Madam opens the door, you’ll see the people!"
"Oh!" Ye Anxin, knowing nothing, could only trust what Pete said.
After a stretch of walking, Pete finally brought Ye Anxin in front of a door.
Pete didn’t attempt to push the door, but instead said to Ye Anxin, "Madam, I’ve brought you here; after I leave, go in on your own! Don’t worry, the President is inside, he will greet you once you go in!"
Ye Anxin offered Pete a sweet smile, "Alright, I understand! Thank you, Brother Pete!"
"No need to thank, it’s my duty!" Saying this, he released Ye Anxin’s arm, waved at her, and turned to leave.
After Pete left, Ye Anxin reached out to push the door before her open.
As the door opened, Ye Anxin was dumbfounded!
Where’s the promised banquet? Where are the promised people? The inside was empty, not a single person to be seen!
She had expected, once the door opened, a throng of people inside! However, except for a long dining table, a candelabrum atop it with candles burning, and a large bouquet of blue roses beside it, not a soul was there! Not even Mu Beiting was visible!
What on earth was going on? Had she gone to the wrong place, or had Pete brought her to the wrong location?
Driven by curiosity, Ye Anxin stepped inside step by step! As she reached the dining table, the door she had opened slammed shut!
Ye Anxin turned back quickly, but before she could see clearly, the room’s lights suddenly went out! Only the candles on the long dining table were burning, casting the entire space in a dim yellow hue!
At the instant the lights went out, Ye Anxin only felt her heart sink suddenly! As she frightenedly prepared to take out her phone to make a call, a sudden burst of music echoed in the empty room!
