Chapter 610 - 581: Cut from the Same Mold
Chapter 610 - 581: Cut from the Same Mold
As they continued flipping through the photos, they saw Simon Forrester during his middle school and elementary school days, finally reaching his baby phase."Can you hand me the bag with the ultrasound report?" he said.
Sienna Thornton quickly handed him a white bag from beside her. He dug out a few ultrasound photos from this morning, picked one, and then placed it beside a black-and-white baby photo in the album, laughing: "I knew it, looks exactly like me when I was a kid."
Old Master Forrester heard this and quickly put on his reading glasses, leaning in to take a look.
"Exactly the same! The baby looks just like Jules when he was born!" The old man joyfully took the ultrasound photo from Simon Forrester’s hand, "Oh, my great-grandchild, you’re just as handsome as your dad!"
Sienna Thornton glanced at it too. The baby, just over five months old, really seemed to be a spitting image of Simon Forrester when he was young. According to the saying that daughters often resemble their dads, it might really be a girl.
Daughters are a treasure, and she would love that.
She leaned into Simon Forrester’s ear and whispered, "Looks like you’re getting your wish."
As soon as she said that, Old Master Forrester confidently declared, "It’s definitely a boy! You can tell by the features that it’s a boy’s face! I’m not mistaken!" He continued laughing to himself, "Good, good, the Forrester Family has a successor... I can die in peace now..."
Sienna Thornton felt a chill and pinched Simon Forrester’s waist, signaling with her eyes for him to gently warn Old Master Forrester.
Simon Forrester got the hint and turned to Old Master Forrester saying, "Grandpa, why are you saying that? We’d be happy with a daughter, don’t say such things!"
Old Master Forrester glanced over with a smile, "What good is it if you like it? If it’s a girl, it is a girl!"
"Well, you never know. Daughters usually look like their fathers."
Upon hearing this, the smile on Old Master Forrester’s face instantly vanished. Maybe afraid of making his granddaughter-in-law unhappy, he forced a smile after a while: "Girls are good too, girls are good, they can take care of their little brothers in the future."
The first child isn’t even born yet, and they’re already looking forward to a second one. Sienna Thornton was also at a loss, unable to maintain her smile.
Noticing her displeasure, Simon Forrester said to Old Master Forrester, "Alright, alright, having a baby is our own concern, there’s no need for you to worry! Let’s eat, I’m hungry!"
Old Master Forrester quickly went to call the servants to prepare food.
Simon Forrester picked up his phone, capturing the photo of the two juxtaposed "father-daughter" images before finally closing the album, satisfied.
...
After leaving the old house, Simon Forrester didn’t head straight home but instead detoured to the design office.
He took Sienna Thornton to the office and then called Harrison Rowe in: "Does the office have someone who can handle photo processing?"
Harrison Rowe was puzzled: "What do you need to process?"
So, he took out the baby’s ultrasound photo and handed it to Harrison Rowe: "Get someone to process this for me, then reprint and laminate it to the size of an ID card."
Harrison hmediately understood and left with the photo.
Sienna Thornton straightened up on the sofa, adjusting to a more comfortable position, making her pregnancy bump more prominent.
Seeing this, Simon Forrester smiled and sat next to her, gently stroking her belly a few times with his hand, then leaned in with his ear pressed against it to listen for any movements inside.
Sienna Thornton chuckled: "Can you really hear anything like this?"
He shook his head, but continued to listen intently.
Feeling bored, she reached out her hand towards his hair, running her fingers through his slightly stiff hair, gently massaging his scalp with her fingertips.
"What are you going to do with the ultrasound photo?"
"Put it in my wallet."
"Alright." Sienna Thornton reflected on the rather unappealing photo, "I don’t think it looks that good."
"...You wouldn’t understand a father’s sentiment."
"Alright." Indeed, she didn’t understand.
It was late spring at the time, soon to embrace early summer, the sunlight was bright, pouring down through the gaps in the lush leaves of the climbing plants on the roof, warm and soft.
Sienna Thornton looked up at the spring light overhead, chatting with Simon Forrester now and then.
Suddenly, the door swung open.
"Fletcher, you came over?"
Logan Lockwood walked in.
Upon seeing Simon Forrester and his wife on the sofa, he paused, covering his eyes with his hand, muttering, "I didn’t see anything," and quickly shut the door behind him.
Sienna Thornton was both amused and exasperated, nudged Simon Forrester who was still listening to the belly: "Come on, get up, Logan might be here for something."
"What could he be here for?" Simon Forrester sat up, adjusting his shirt, and called out towards the door, "Come in!"
Sienna Thornton also sat up straight.
Logan Lockwood opened the door again, still covering his eyes: "Can I open my eyes after counting to three?"
Simon Forrester glanced at him: "What do you want?"
"One, two, three!" Quickly counting, Logan Lockwood opened his eyes, pulled over a swivel chair beside the long table, sat in front of Simon Forrester, and tossed an envelope to him, "Didn’t you ask Little Rowe to do something with the photos? He had to leave, so he asked me to bring this to you."
Simon Forrester quickly opened the envelope, checked the photos inside for a while, then showed them to Sienna Thornton before putting them into his wallet.
Logan stretched his neck to see, but Simon didn’t show him.
"What’s so mysterious about these photos?" Logan asked.
Simon raised an eyebrow, smiling but remaining silent.
Logan couldn’t stand his mysterious demeanor and pressed further: "What kind of photos are they?"
This time Sienna Thornton spoke up: "We went for a 4D ultrasound for the baby in the morning, and the hospital gave us some photos."
Logan laughed heartily: "That explains why Fletcher is so nervous." If Sienna weren’t there, he surely would have teased Simon a bit.
"Since you’re here, why not sign a few project documents?" Logan said, walking over to the desk, picking up the phone to dial the extension, and asked his secretary to bring in the documents.
Simon Forrester patted Sienna Thornton’s hand, softly asking: "I’m going to handle some work, why don’t you rest on the fourth floor?"
"Would I be affecting your work here?"
"No."
Sienna Thornton laughed: "Then I’ll wait here; I don’t want to climb any more stairs."
"Alright," Simon Forrester glanced at his watch, "I’ll be quick."
A moment later, Logan’s secretary brought in a stack of file folders and placed them all on Simon Forrester’s desk. On her way out, she curiously glanced at Sienna Thornton, who smiled back.
Simon Forrester began to review the projects, with Logan sitting across from him to provide any necessary input.
Initially, things went smoothly, and the dozens of documents were quickly reduced by more than half. Suddenly, Simon Forrester frowned, looking at Logan: "What’s up with ’Mooncrest’? We clearly stated at the beginning of the project that we wouldn’t do apartments."
"Which one?" Logan looked at the file he handed over, then handed it back, "Hawthorne Family’s project... I heard Fourth Master Grant asked Holt to handle it."
"Fourth Master Grant?" Simon Forrester caught on.
Mooncrest... Mooncrest... Maeve Manor...
