Chapter 911: Isn’t This Enough?

The Witch Slayer army drew their weapons and prepared their runes as they charged forward towards the Witch’s lair, but they all stopped in their tracks as they saw hundreds of Legion subordinates standing in their way. There were dragonborn with long swords, Bengari warriors with dangerous-looking runes, Machina soldiers with sophisticated weapons, and multiple beasts waiting for the Witch Slayers at the border leading into the Witch’s lair, and the Witch Slayers all wondered what was going on! Jason had already warned the Honduran King to recall his soldiers because he would kill anyone that he found on this battlefield, and now that the soldiers had ignored his warning, Jason had no reason to hold back anymore.’Kill them all.’

That was Jason’s simple order, and the mana in the region suddenly skyrocketed to an unbelievable level! The soldiers took multiple steps back when they felt the sheer power the Legion possessed, and some of them turned and began to run away in fear, but none of them could even take ten steps before the Legion charged forward to attack!

[The Lair of the Witch of Calamity]

’What is this? Who is this man?’

Varina, the Witch of Calamity, stood in the middle of a dark room within her lair, and she stared down into a crystal ball and watched the battles going on all around her domain. There were hundreds of strange soldiers surrounded by purple auras killing all the Witch Slayers that had been planning to attack, and Varina couldn’t understand why they were doing that! Varina had a feeling that these unknown soldiers belonged to the mysterious man who had appeared in her world a few hours ago, but Varina didn’t know why he sent his soldiers to fight her enemies when he had only been attacking her minions all this time!

The sight of Jason using his Qi to knock out Varina’s minions played on the crystal ball, and Varina frowned in anger! This man was dangerous! Varina couldn’t allow him to reach her lair! Varina quickly shifted her view in her crystal ball to show Jason walking through a rocky pathway that led up to her cave. Varina’s eyes glowed with a red light, and she sent an internal signal towards some of her strongest soldiers while telling them to attack, and the cave around Jason rumbled as hundreds of Falicans began to run towards him! The Falicans were from a world that already discovered magic, so they possessed strong bodies that none of the Hondurans could keep up with! The witch was sure that Jason would struggle against them –

"WHAT!?"

Varina yelled in shock as she saw Jason easily get rid of all her strongest soldiers! One moment, they had been running straight at Jason, and at the next, they all simply passed out without Jason having to lift a finger! Varina felt a surge of anger fill her heart as she stared at Jason, but Varina recoiled in fear when Jason suddenly turned and looked straight at her through the crystal ball!

’He can see me!?’

On the other side of the crystal ball, Jason hummed as he felt a strange magic signature pointed towards him from above. It felt like someone was watching him, and he narrowed his eyes curiously at them. Jason was sure that this was the Witch of Calamity, and Jason decided that it didn’t matter. It was better that she knew he was coming, so they wouldn’t have to bother wasting any time when they met. Jason turned away from the witch and continued walking forward, and the Witch of Calamity took multiple steps back as she felt a sense of dread rising from somewhere deep inside her! This was a feeling that she hadn’t experienced for more than a decade now! It was the same feeling she had when her mentor had been burned on that stake ten years ago, and also what she felt when she saw her family’s house burning down with her parents and sister inside it! The witch felt genuine terror!

’I have to get out of here. That man isn’t someone I can handle at my level. I can’t wait for him to reach me.’

The witch quickly called all of her minions and sent them towards Jason’s location, and she began moving towards the inner room to pack her belongings.

"What are you doing?"

"AHHH!"

The witch screamed in fright as she heard Jason’s voice coming from right behind her, and she turned around sharply and swung a ball of fire in Jason’s direction! Jason easily slapped the ball away nonchalantly, and he watched the witch take multiple steps away from him as her chest heaved with hard breaths! The Witch was looking at Jason in the same way a cornered rat would look at a cat that had snuck up on it, and Jason couldn’t really blame her. This room had been secured using high-level runes to prevent anyone from entering, but Jason had easily deactivated the runes by breaking the foundations apart. Jason was sure that no one else in this world could do something like that, so the witch never anticipated Jason would enter here so quickly. Jason moved towards a table at the side and leaned against it before folding his arms and waiting patiently for the witch to calm down.

"We’ll talk when you catch your breath. I’m not here to hurt you, Varina."

Varina stepped back again when she heard her name, and she frowned at Jason. Varina could tell that Jason was unbelievably strong. The mana he was letting off was enough to drown an entire world in its power! But Varina couldn’t understand what Jason was doing here. Only women could use mana in Hondura, so Jason had ot be from another world. Varina eyed Jason for a few seconds, and it took a while before she finally spoke in a wary voice.

"You’re not from this world, are you?"

Jason hummed.

"No, I’m not."

"Who are you?"

"My name is Jason. I’m the Overlord of this domain."

Varina’s brow furrowed when she heard the strange term. Overlord? What does that mean? Varina asked this question, and Jason tapped his finger on the table as he thought of a way to explain it as simply as possible. Finally, Jason spoke.

"You can think of me as the one in charge of making sure all the parallel worlds are taken care of. Well, at least that’s what’s on my job title. But most of the time, I see myself as a glorified babysitter here to keep you kids in check. It’s my job to make sure powerful people like you don’t fuck with the worlds around them."

Jason’s explanation seemed to give Varina a good idea of what Jason was here for, and Jason could feel Varina’s hostility grow as she glared at him! Varina’s mana surged through the cave, and Jason couldn’t help but be mildly impressed by it! If Varina were on Earth, then she would be around the same level as Stella! Varina glared at Jason and spoke.

"So what are you doing here? Is there something I can do for you?"

Varina didn’t bother trying to hide her hostility, and Jason simply ignored it as he waved at the crystal ball behind Varina.

"You’ve been busy the past few years, haven’t you? You’ve tormented them for a decade, and more than sixty percent of the population has died at your hands. Don’t you think that’s enough?"

Varina’s eyes widened, and her face took on an expression of sheer disbelief! Varina looked at Jason like he was some demon that she had never seen before, and when she spoke, her voice was a low whisper that echoed through the cave lightly.

"Enough? Did you just say that this was enough? Do... do you know what you’re talking about right now? Do you understand what you’re asking me?"
